How to: Update iPhone 4 to iOS 4.1 While Preserving Baseband 01.59.00

Fortunately Notcom, the guy behind Tiny Umbrella, with version version 4.1.3 up to latest, he discovered a method to preserve your iOS 4.0.1 ,4.0.2 baseband 01.59.00 while updating to iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4.

Note: A jailbreak available for iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, If your baseband 2.10 you will not be able to use ultrasn0w, So proceed with caution and backup your SHSH blobs first, We are not responsible for any problem occured you your iPhone 4 device after this guide.

Step 1: Close iTunes or any other application.

Step 2: Download & Launch TinyUmbrella then connect your iPhone 4.

Step 3: Hit the "Start TSS" Server button

Step 4: Now launch iTunes and restore to iOS 4.1, by Clicking on the iPhone icon on the left sidebar of iTunes then hold left “alt” button (“Shift” button on Windows) on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” then release the alt button, now point it to the iOS 4.1 firmware

Step 5: Wait for iTunes to end up with "error 1004". This is normal and has to do with the baseband not being updated.

Step 6: Simply click on "Kick Device Out of Recovery" from TinyUmbrella

That’s it. You’ve upgraded your iPhone 4 to iOS 4.1 with 1.59.00 baseband.

Hang during restore process: Following iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software will frequently resolve this error. This error can be caused by the default packet size being set incorrectly. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your Registry. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance.

Cannot be restored. This device is not eligible for the requested build: If you receive this error, you likely do not have the latest version of iTunes installed. Check http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for the latest available version of iTunes. If you do have the latest version of iTunes, this can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported.

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.

Error 2: This error is frequently resolved by disabling or uninstalling third-party security or firewall software.

Error -4: This error may occur because of one of the following conditions:

* Access to ports 80 and/or 443 are blocked.
* Communication to albert.apple.com and/or phobos.apple.com is blocked by a firewall, third-party security software, or other Internet security settings.
* The iTunes Store is experiencing extremely high traffic.

Error 6: All of the steps in this article apply to resolve this issue. Following iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software frequently resolves this error. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance.

Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off of the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one of more of the steps listed below:

1. Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including a different USB port directly on the computer.
2. Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
3. Try a different USB 30-pin dock connector cable.
4. Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
5. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance.
6. Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
7. Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

If you find an ASR error 1000 in the iPhone, iPad, or iPod updater log file, that is an error decompressing and transferring the IPSW file that is downloaded during the restore. This error is frequently caused by third-party security software interference, a poor quality Internet connection resulting in a bad IPSW download, or a conflict on the USB bus.

Error 18 (or -18): This occurs when the media library on the device is corrupt and cannot be modified or updated. Updating to the latest version of iTunes and then restoring should resolve this issue.

Error -19: The full text of this error is: "iTunes could not sync to the iPhone '[iPhone name]' because an unknown error occurred (-19)". This error can occur when you attempt to update an iPhone 3G to a later version of the software and iTunes attempts to back up iPhone while it is syncing. To resolve this issue:

1. Uncheck "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" from the iTunes Summary tab.
2. Eject iPhone.
3. Reconnect iPhone.
4. Select Update.

Error 20, 21, 34, 37: These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. If you are using a PC, follow this article to resolve this issue.

Error 23, 28, 29, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1013, 1014, 1611: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article and also attempt to restore while connected with a known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate this issue to the device. If the MAC address is missing or the IMEI is the default value (00 499901 064000 0), this can also confirm a hardware issue.

Error 48: To resolve this error, follow the steps in this article. Also see the steps in "Restore using a new user account" above for .ipsw file locations.

Error 1015: This error is caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple.

Error 1479: This error occurs when trying to contact Apple for an update or restore. Quit iTunes, disconnect from USB, restart the iOS device, reconnect the device to the computer, then launch iTunes and attempt to update or restore again.

Error 1602: Try the following steps to resolve this error:

1. Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
2. Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
3. This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

Error 1603: If you receive this error and the iOS device is not automatically placed into recovery mode, it may be necessary to do so manually. Refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore for steps on placing iPhone into forced recovery mode. Also, remove the IPSW and attempt to restore again. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user.

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the USB 30-pin dock-connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.

If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
2. Restore and wait for error 1604.
3. When prompted, click OK.
4. Close and re-open iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
5. iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
6. Try to restore again.

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Error 2000-2009: (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on) If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. Learn how to reset the SMC. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue continues, it may be related to conflicting security software.

Error 3000-3999: (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3164, 3194, and so on) Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again.

Error 3002: If you experience this error while updating an iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone 3G, please use the standard update or restore process in iTunes (click Update or Restore).

Error 3004: If the steps listed in Error 3000-3999 do not resolve, you may be able to resolve an error 3004 by quitting iTunes and using the following command at the command line: dscacheutil -flushcache

Error 9807: If you see "Error 9807", open access to the following VeriSign servers:

* evintl-ocsp.verisign.com
* evsecure-ocsp.verisign.com

Error 9808: Follow the steps in iTunes Store: Unknown alert error message when connecting to resolve the issue. If those steps do not resolve the issue, or if the settings revert to their original values after the restart, then follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

Error 9844: Error 9844 is typically caused by incorrect firewall settings. See the top of this article for ports and servers that must be open.

Error 40265xxxx: Errors of the 40265xxxx range generally occur during the restore-from-a-backup phase, after iOS has been installed on the device. Restoring the device and setting up as new can resolve the issue. Before restoring as new, take steps to preserve the previous backups created by iTunes, such as copying the contents of the Backup directory onto the desktop. See iPhone and iPod touch: About backups to learn where backups are stored for your computer's operating system and additional precautionary notes regarding setting up as new. The backups created by iTunes store data such as your SMS, Favorites, Bookmarks, and other app data.

Mobile  Installation

1) Using SSH, navigate to the folder:  "/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework"  (winscp)
NOTE: MobileInstallation.framework is a FOLDER!
2) Backup the  file "MobileInstallation" file from the directory above
3) Copy the patched  MobileInstallation file over to  "/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework"
4) Set  permissions to that new file to 775
5) Remove file :  /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plist else you  won't be able to see Cydia apps
5) Reboot your iPhone - IMPORTANT! Otherwise  Apps will not install!
6) Restart iTunes
7) Double click IPA files so they  appear in iTunes and synchronize

Bypass T-Mobile G1 Google Activation

This Guide is for Customers who got Unlock Code but stuck with Google Activation Screen.

You must have either RC29 or earlier, or Modded RC30.(RC29 is US firmware, RC7 is UK firmware) If U have higher
Versions like (RC33 US firmware or RC8 UK firmware) then u Need to Downgrade.

To Check Firmware Version Do the following without Sim

If Phone Reboots then u have version RC29 or Lower, Skip Upgrading/Flashing Procedure.
(Flash your phone to RC29/RC7 or lower to be able to Exploit Root Access)

Step 1- Format the SD card to FAT32 (Make Sure of this, otherwise it wont Work.
Step 2- Unzip the RC29 or RC7 image file (DREAIMG.nbh) to the SD card & Rename it to (DREAIMG.NBH)
Step 3- Switch Off the Device then Insert the SD card.
Step 4- Now U have to Put your G1 in BootLoader Mode (Hold Down Camera Button, and press Power Button) DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS.
Step 5- Press Power button to Start Upgrade/Flashing Procedure.
Step 6- Once its done, Reboot your G1.

For Those with RC29 or Earlier Versions, Just Follow The Below Guide.

You must have ADB installed on your Computer (Extract to C: Drive), Download & Install the USB drivers. U can Manually Install when Computer Asks for the Drivers once U Connect your G1.

1- Plug your G1 & Install Drivers.
2- Without Sim Card in Your G1, <enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter> Even though u dont see what u typing, but u are actually executing a Command on your G1 to Enable USB Debugging in Settings.
3- Once u Execute that Command USB Drivers will be Installed again, but this time will be recognised as ADB Interface.
4- Click Start>Run>cmd> to Command Prompt
5- Type c:\adb devices (If your Device is Connected u will see it)
6- Restart your G1 but now With Sim, to see the Activation Screen then Plug USB Cable & Type c:\adb devices (to make sure u are connected)
7- Type c:\adb shell (U will see a $ sign) Just Copy & Paste this into Command Prompt (am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.settings/.Settings) The Settings Screen will Appear, now Switch on Wi-Fi & Connect to the Internet.
8- Now u can either Login with your Existing or Create New Account with Google.

How to Install Chickhen R2, 5.03 GEN-C at 5.03 Prometheus

upgrade first your psp version to 5.03 OFW

Instructions:

1. i-connect ang psp to pc (using usb cable)
2. ilagay ang (5.03 OFW extracted) UPDATE folder to game folder ng psp
3. sa game icon menu ng psp, run 5.03 update

*remember to always plugged-in your charger with 80% battery, when upgrading*

Nokia N75 disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver

Run your fingernail or the edge of a credit card around the join of the top half of the phone to release the clips which hold the front cover on.

You now have the front cover removed. Now remove the 4 screws you can see.

In the image below, the screwdriver indicates a ribbon connector which you need to disconnect. It attaches like a plug and socket so simply lift it up to unplug it. Now remove the metal frame. It is attached around the sides by four clips. Use your fingernail or a thin sliver of metal to unclip the frame.

You can now replace the small LCD screen. Carefully push it away from the metal frame.

You have now removed the small LCD.

To remove the large LCD, detach the ribbon connector, indicated by the screwdriver in the picture below. Again, it attaches like a plug and socket so just lift it up to unplug.

Lift the printed circuit board up and you can then lift the LCD screen away from the phone.

You will now have removed the LCD screen. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Tools required: Plastic shim such as a guitar plectrum or credit card

First remove the battery cover, battery, memory card and sim. Now push your plastic shim into the join at the top of the phone to lift the front cover out slightly. Then run the plastic shim along both sides of the cover to unclip it at these points too

You should now have the front cover removed, like below.

The LCD screen is held in place by a metal frame which needs to be unclipped around its edge for removal.

The LCD screen will now be loose and can be removed. It will be attached to the phone by a ribbon which attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it upwards to unplug it.

You can now lift away the LCD and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia E90 Communicator disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver

First remove the sticker in the large circle to reveal a screw. Then remove all three screws you can see. The front cover will now be loose and can be removed.

With the front cover removed you have access to the outer LCD screen. This is attached to the phone by a connector, which is circled. This connector attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up, away from the phone, to disconnect it. Remove the keypad, which will be loose.

Your phone will now look like below. The circled connector is attached like the last one. Disconnect this.

Remove the two screws, circled.

Now lift the metal plate you have just removed the screws from to access the LCD screen. The LCD screen will be loose and can be lifted out.

You should now have the inner LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia E71 disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the four screws you can see. Then push your screwdriver into the four circled gaps. This releases the clips that hold the front cover in place. Now pull the front cover away from the phone.

With the front cover removed, your phone should look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. Now remove the two black screws you can see at the top of the phone.

Run your plastic tool around the join at the bottom of the phone to remove the bottom cover, as shown below.

Now pull the screen and frame towards you. It'll still be connected at the bottom by a ribbon/connector so don't try and remove it completely.

Using a plastic shim, such as a guitar plectrum or credit card, lift the antenna cover away from the phone. Some force is required.

You should now have the antenna cover removed. Now remove the six screws you see. The front cover will now be loose.

You should now have the front cover removed, like below. Now remove the screw you can see near the top of the phone, above the LCD screen.

Pull the metal frame towards you, just enough to allow you to remove the LCD screen. The LCD connector (circled) attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift the connector up to unplug it.

Lift the screen away from the rest of the phone. Your phone should now look like below and you can replace the LCD. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

You can now remove the front cover. Remove the two screws you can see and then push the metal LCD frame in the direction shown to release it.

Flip the frame over but take note that it is still attached by a ribbon at the bottom of the phone. You now have access to the ribbon connector from the LCD screen (circled). The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector up, away from the phone to unplug it. The LCD screen will now be free.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the procedure for reassembly.

Procedure
Step 1 : Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. Yes you read that right ! AppSync for iOS 4.0 (formerly iPhone OS 4) is now available for all those of you who have managed to jailbreak your iPhones and iPod touches. For those of you who don’t know, AppSync patches MobileInstallation file on iOS which is needed in order to install .ipa files manually without using iTunes.
Make sure you have jailbroken your iPhone or iPod touch on firmware 4.0 before following the steps below.
Step 1: Start “Cydia” on your iPhone.
Step 2: Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom.
Step 3: Now touch on “Sources” as seen in the screenshot below:

Step 4: Touch on “Edit”, and then on “Add”. You should now be prompted to enter a url source as seen in the screenshot below. Type “http://cydia.hackulo.us” and click on“Add Source”.

Cydia will now automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps as shown in the screenshots below:

1. Format your USB Pen Drive using "usb_format.exe" inside the Tools folder into FAT or FAT32 file system.

2. Using the "grubinst_gui.exe" inside the Tools folder, or download it from http://www.mediafire.com/?5gvwmmmqqnt you have to install a Bootloader into your Pen Drive, as follows :
(a) Disk - After you Refresh, select your USB Pen Drive from the pop down drive list.

Since iPhone 4 released, we heard about the Apple's reception issue, which Apple tried to solve it with a free Bumper, today Razianfly reported the damage occurred to his iPhone 4 device after using the Bumper. He removed the bumper after some days of usage, and he got surprised!

As many of you will know, release 11 of Hirens BootCD is now pretty much legal as just about all of the commercial software has now been removed. While good in some ways it does now mean many of the programs which made this such a great BootCD have gone. What I have done with the Restored Edition is put back most of the tools which have been dropped in versions 10.0 - 11.
Hiren's Boot CD is a boot CD containing various diagnostic programs such as partitioning agents, system performance benchmarks, disk cloning and imaging tools, data recovery tools, MBR tools, BIOS tools, and many others for fixing various computer problems. It is a Bootable CD; thus, it can be useful even if the primary operating system cannot be booted. Hiren's Boot CD has an extensive list of software. Nokia 7900 Prism disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Now remove the six black screws you can see (three on each side of the phone).

The front cover can now be removed. Lift from left to right as the cover will still be connected by a wire on the right hand side, which you don't want to damage.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the five screws you can see around the LCD screen

You can now lift the screen away from the phone. It will still be connected by a ribbon connector, circled. This attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up, away from the phone, to unplug the connector.

You should now have the LCD screen removed from the phone. You now need to lever the screen from its metal frame. Use something like a credit card or guitar plectrum to do this. The LCD screen will be stuck in the frame with double sided tape so the best way to remove it is to slide your credit card under the screen.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 7610 Supernova disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a credit card or guitar plectrum.

First remove the battery cover, battery, sim etc. Remove the six screws you can see. Note that the two screws at the bottom of the phone are longer than the other four so make sure they go back in the right place.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the battery compartment to unclip it.

With the battery compartment removed your phone will now look like below. You now have access to a ribbon connector. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector up, away from the phone to unplug it. The green circuit board will now be loose and can be lifted away.

Run your credit card around the join of the front cover then push in the direction shown by the arrows. This will release the front cover.

Your phone should now look like below. You now have access to another ribbon connector. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector away from the phone to unplug it. The LCD screen will now be free.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 7510 Supernova disassembly

Tools required: Torx 4 screwdriver, screwdriver with a very small, flat head, or something similar.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Push a very small flat head screwdriver or something similar into the join of the housing at the point shown and lever the screwdriver to lift the lens up.

With the lens slightly raised you can slide a credit card around its edge in order to release the lens.

With the lens removed your phone should look like below. Remove the four torx screws you can see.

Now turn the phone over and push the cover in the direction shown by the arrows. The cover should come away with little force.

With the cover remove your phone should look like below.

Turn the phone on its side. On each side you'll see three clips which you need to release. Just lever them away with you small, flat head screwdriver or similar. This will release the LCD frame.

With the LCD frame removed your phone should look like below. A ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. The screen will now be loose and can be removed.

With the LCD screen removed your phone should look like below. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 7500 Prism disassembly

Run your plastic tool around the join of the front cover to unclip it.

With the front cover removed your phone will now look like below. Remove the four screws you can see.

Lift the circuit board, with the LCD screen still attached, away from the body of the phone, like below. Two clips (circled) hold the metal frame to the circuit board. Release these.

Your phone should now look like below.

Turn the phone over. Circled is a small metal box which covers the connector from the LCD screen. This needs to be removed. A few clips along each side hold it in place. These clips can be easily levered away.

You now have access to a ribbon connector. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector away from the phone to unplug it. The LCD screen will now be free.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 7100 Supernova disassembly

Tools required: Torx 4 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery and sim. Now remove the four screws circled in red.

Turn the phone over and open the slide. You'll be able to lever the keypad and keypad surround out around its edge.

Now remove the other four screws from the back of the phone. The battery compartment will now be loose and can be lifted away from the main body of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. A ribbon connector needs to be detached (circled). This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. You can now remove the circuit board.

Your phone should now look like below.

Move the slide part down to reveal two screws. Remove these screws. Now pull the edges of the front cover in the direction shown by the arrows to release the front cover.

You should now have the front cover removed. Lever the black part off indicated by the arrow.

Your phone should now look like below. A ribbon connector needs to be detached (circled). This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug. Now slide your plastic tool under the LCD screen to remove it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 6600 Fold disassembly

Tools required: Torx 2 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the two screws you can see.

The camera cover will now be loose and can be lifted away from the phone, as shown below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug.

The image below shows the connector after it has been disconnected.

Slide your plastic tool around the join of the front cover. Start on one corner, as shown below, then do the same on the opposite corner.

Your phone should now look like below.

Now open the flip and the phone will separate into two halves, as shown below. Pull the metal bar in the direction shown.

Your phone should now look like below.

(Have a look at the image in the next stage before proceeding in order to understand what you're trying to achieve in this stage). Turn the top half of the phone over and it'll look like below. There is a gap at the top of the phone (circled top left) that the ribbon needs to be slid through. Lever the ringer (circled bottom right) away from the phone. It'll be stuck down with double sided tape. Then pull the ribbon in the direction shown by the arrow. A connector will release. This connector slides in and out of its socket, unlike the previous connector.

Your phone should now look like below.

Now slide your plastic tool under the edge of the display window to release it This part is stuck down lightly with double sided tape.

Your phone should now look like below.

Now lever the part shown below. Hold your finger over it as you do so to stop it shooting off somewhere and getting lost.

You can now replace the LCD screen (the screen cannot be removed from the housing so you need to replace the whole part. This can be bought from the link at the top of this page). Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 6600 Slide disassembly

Run something like a credit card under the keypad to release it.

With the keypad removed your phone should look like below. Remove the two screws you can see. Then pull the housing in the direction shown by the arrows to release the two clips that hold the circuit board in place.

The battery compartment should no be loose. Lift it away from the rest of the phone, as shown.

Your phone should now look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug.

You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone.

Run your plastic tool all the way around the join of the front cover to release it.

Remove the part shown below. You can either pull it away with your fingernails or lever it off with something like a small flat head screwdriver.

You can now remove the front cover, as shown below.

The metal frame should also be loose and can be removed. Another ribbon connector needs to be unplugged like the one in the earlier stages of the guide.

You now need to slide your plastic tool under the screen. It'll be stuck down with double sided tape so a little force is required.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 6500 Classic disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver & small flat head screwdriver or some kind of metal lever

First remove the battery cover, battery and memory card.

Run your fingernail around the edge of the join of the top cover to unclip it then remove this part.

Now remove the camera surround. It'll be stuck down with double sided tape so just peel it away. Also remove the clear camera window, indicated by the arrow. Your phone should now look like below

Push the front cover up the remove it. It'll just slide off.

Your phone will now look like below.

Use a metal lever like a flat head screwdriver to pop the LCD frame out. Use the lever on both sides of the phone.

Pull the LCD frame towards you. You'll now be able to access five screws which hold a metal plate in place. Unscrew these and lift away the metal plate to access the connector from the LCD. The LCD will still be attached to the phone at the bottom by a ribbon which attaches like a plug and socket. Just lift this up to unplug it.

You'll now have the LCD frame (and LCD) removed.

The LCD will easily pop out of the frame and allow you to replace it. It you are only replacing the LCD screen you don't need to go any further than this. To continue with disassembly push the circled part (the antenna) in the direction shown by the arrow, in order to remove it.

Push the circled part (the USB brace) in the direction shown by the arrow, in order to remove it. Be careful not to damage any of the small and delicate surrounding components.

The circled ribbon connector needs to be detached. Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Just lift it up to unplug.

Lift the circuit board away from the phone's housing, noting that the coax cable (circled) is still attached. Again, this attaches like a plug and socket so just lift it up to unplug.

Your phone should now look like below.

Turn the phone over and pull the black part in the direction shown by the arrow, as shown below. Note that it will still be attached by a wire on the other side so don't try to remove it completely.

To remove the keypad membrane, peel it away from the housing, starting from the circled part.

With the keypad membrane removed your phone should look like below. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 6303 Classic disassembly

Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Two screws need to be removed, circled below.

Three clips hold the front cover in place. Two of these clips are circled below and there's one on the other side of the phone.

Lever the cover off where the clips are situated using something like a credit card.

You should now have the front cover removed. Now remove the four screws you can see.

You can now lift the circuit board away from the chassis.

Turn the circuit board over. Circled below is a small metal cover. Using a small amount of force, pull this cover off.

You now have access to a ribbon connector. This attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lever the connector up, away from the circuit board, to unplug.

Next you need to remove the metal LCD frame. It's held in place by two clips (one on each side).

With the LCD frame removed the LCD screen will be loose. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 5800 Xpress Music disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim, stylus and memory card. Remove the four screws you can see then pull the coloured outer band at various points in the direction shown by the arrows below. This will release the clips holding the band in place.

Your phone should now look like below. The key lock sliding button will also come away with the coloured band.

Release the front cover in the same way you released the coloured band, pulling at various points around its outer edge. Start near the bottom as there is a ribbon cable at the top of the phone which can be damaged if too much force is applied to it.

Lift the cover up and back so that it looks like the photo below. Note that it is still attached by a ribbon cable at the top of the phone so don't try and separate it from the rest of the phone just yet.

Lever the keypad off. Just slide your plastic tool underneath the keypad to release it.

Now slide your plastic tool under the LCD screen. It should come away with little force. Then lift the LCD up and over so it sits on top of the front cover. Again, it is still attached by ribbons so it can't be removed completely yet.

With the LCD slipped over, your phone should now look like below. Remove the two screws you can see and the battery compartment will come loose.

Below you see the battery compartment removed. I have also flipped the front cover and LCD back over to cause less stress on the ribbons whilst performing the next action (and taking the photo). A ribbon connector is circled below. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to disconnect it.

Note that the connector, circled at the bottom of the picture is the one you disconnected in the stage above. Now lift the circuit board up to access some more ribbon connectors. Again it attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to disconnect it.

The connector circled below, left, again attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to disconnect it. The other connector is slightly different. The brown part at the top of the connector is a latch. Pull this up, towards you then pull the circuit board away from the rest of the phone and the ribbon will slide out.

Your phone should now look like below. The front cover, screen and main body of the phone will now be loose and can be separated.

Your phone should now look like below. You can now replace the LCD screen. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 5530 Xpress Music disassembly

Tools required: To remove the LCD screen you need a plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card. To remove the touch screen you also need torx 4 and torx 6 screwdrivers.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card.

Run something like a credit card all the way around the join of the front cover to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the front cover removed your phone should look like below.

Look at the right side of your phone. Five clips, circled below, hold the touch screen in place. Use something like a pair of tweezers to lever the bottom clip off and the rest should unclip with ease. Lift the frame from right to left but be careful because the touch screen will still be attached to the phone by a ribbon.

With the touch screen frame flipped over your phone should look like below. The touch screen is still connected by a ribbon, top left, so be careful how you handle the phone.

Slide your plastic tool right under the LCD screen. A small piece of double sided tape holds the LCD screen in place and will release as you push the card under.

Flip the LCD screen over. Note that the screen is still attached by a ribbon at the top of the phone.

Below is a close up of the ribbon and connector. The small pink part, indicated by the arrow, moves on a hinge. Flick it up, towards the ribbon, and the ribbon will be released. Carefully pull the LCD screen away from the phone and the ribbon will slide out of its socket.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. To continue with disassembly remove the four torx 6 screws, circled in red, and the two torx 4 screws, circled in blue.

Lift the circled part up. It's only stuck down lightly with double sided tape.

Lift the middle of the phone up and over. It'll still be attached by a ribbon. You now have access to the ribbon from the touch screen, circled below. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up, away from the circuit board, to unplug.

You should now have the touch screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Nokia 3600 Slide disassembly

First remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the bottom part of the front cover in order to release it. With the bottom of the front cover slightly loose, push the cover in the direction of the arrows to remove it.

Your phone should now look below. A ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug.

Starting from the point shown below, slide your credit card under the LCD screen. The screen will be stuck down lightly and will release as you push your card under it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola W220 disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver

Two plastic stickers cover the first two screws you need to remove. In the photo below you can see the screws after the two plastic stickers have been removed.

Remove the two screws then peel away the Motorola badge at the top of the phone. It's stuck on with double sided tape. Remove the two screws you can now see.

Starting near the hinge, run your fingernail all the way round the join of the housing.

You should now have the top half of the housing removed, allowing access to the LCD screen.

Detach the ribbon cable from the screen. Simply pull it and it'll slide out of it's socket.

You can now lift the LCD screen from the phone and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola U9 disassembly

Tools required: Torx 3 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Open the flip then slide your plastic tool around the edge of the plastic lens to remove it.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the four screws you can see. Note that the two at the bottom are black and the two at the top are silver and these need to go back in the right place as they're slightly different lengths.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the top cover in order to release it.

Your phone should now look like below.

Lever the metal frame off at the two points shown below. Do the same on the other side.

You should now have the metal frame removed. Three ribbons now need disconnecting. The two small ribbons have a foam sticker on which needs to be removed. Then note the black latches. Flick the black latches up and then side each ribbon out. You can then lift the green circuit board away from the phone. You'll need to waggle it around until it slides over the small screen.

Your phone should now look like below. Lever the screen out at the points circled below.

You should now have the screen removed.

Slide your plastic tool behind the small screen to separate it from the large screen. You'll need some double sided tape to stick this back down.

You should now have both screens removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola RIZR Z10 disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove the battery cover, battery and the two screws, circled below.

Unclip the microphone cover (just lever it out with your fingernail) to reveal two more screws. Remove these screws.

With the two screws removed in the above step you can remove the mic.

Lift the battery compartment away from the rest of the phone and you'll see it's attached by a ribbon. The ribbon connects like a plug and socket. Simply lever it away to unplug.

Your phone should now look like below.

Pull the green circuit board away from the phone and you'll see it's attached by another ribbon. Again, the ribbon connects like a plug and socket. Simply lever it away to unplug.

You now have access to two more ribbons (circled) which connect just like the others. Disconnect them.

You should now have the circuit board removed. Next remove the two black screws at the top of the phone, circled below.

Starting near the top of the phone, run your credit card around the join of the front cover, where the silver metal part meets it, to release the front cover. The front cover will still be attached at the bottom and needs to be pushed in the direction of the arrow. (Note that when you put the front cover back on you'll have to slide it on at the bottom first). The front cover will still be connected by a ribbon so you won't be able to remove it completely just yet.

You should be able to move the cover to the side slightly to access two screws, one on either side of the phone. Pay careful attention to these screws before removing them. They hold two brass coloured clips in place which will pop out when you remove the screws. Just make a mental note of their position for when you put the phone back together.

The front cover will be loose now. Below you can also see which way round the brass clips go.

You can now remove the ribbon which is attached to the top half of the phone/LCD screen (circled). Again it attaches like a plug and socket.

Detach the ribbon circled below. Again it attaches like a plug and socket.

You can now lift the ribbon shown below away from the phone.

Slide your plastic tool under the edge of the LCD screen to release it. It will be held in place lightly with double sided tape.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola RIZR Z8 disassembly

Remove the battery cover, battery and the two rubber stoppers above the battery compartment to reveal two screws. Remove these two screws

Now unplug the other three ribbons which are attached to the green circuit board. Your phone will now look like below

Now remove the two black screws at the top of the phone

Run your fingernail around the edge of the front cover where the silver metal part meets it, shown below, to release the front cover

The front cover will still be connected but will be loose enough to allow you to twist it round slightly and access two more screws on either side of the phone. Pay careful attention to these screws before removing them. They hold two brass coloured metal clips in place which will pop out when you remove the screws. Just make a mental note of their position for when you put the phone back together

You can now remove the ribbons which are attached to the top half of the phone/LCD screen

You'll now have the front part of the phone removed.

To remove the LCD from the front cover gently pry it away. It's glued down so will peel away from the front cover

The LCD is held in by clips around the edge of the metal frame. Bend the clips back slightly to remove the LCD. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

Motorola RAZR2 V8 disassembly

To replace the LCD screen only the top half of the phone needs to be disassembled. Open the flip so your phone looks like the picture below.

To access the LCD first remove display window. It is attached by double sided tape so will simply peel away.

Your phone will now look like below. Now remove the four screws you can see.

The LCD is held in place by a metal frame. Lift the frame away. It will require a little force at the bottom where it meets the hinge of the flip. The screen is still attached by a ribbon (circled in green) which attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up and it'll unplug.

You can now lift the LCD screen from the phone and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

Motorola U6 PEBL disassembly

Tools required: Torx 3 screwdriver, Torx 6 screwdriver

After removing your back cover and battery, remove the four torx 6 screws you see. (When reassembling, the gold screws go at the bottom and the silver screws go back at the top)

With the four screws removed you can now remove the battery compartment

With the battery slot removed you have access to one of the ribbons (indicated below by the screwdriver) which connects the screen to the main body of the phone. Unclip this (it fits like a plug and socket).

You'll now have the phone in two parts, like below

Now remove the two torx 3 screws at the bottom of the main display. You can then remove the display part which covers the LCD. This is held on by clips. You need to run your fingernail along the edge of the housing to release these. This will release the display up to the point where you see two metal parts (left and right of the Motorola text). The top part of the display is held on with double sided tape. To remove the display requires some force to unstick the tape but be careful not to bend this part back and snap it. Just try to ease it open and it will eventually unstick

You now have the phone in two parts, like below

Remove the display and replace with new. Make sure to clip the ribbon from the casing (you can see it in the picture above and it will have unclipped itself when you remove the display) back in on the new screen when putting the phone back together

Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

Motorola V6 MAXX disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Open the flip. You first need to remove the lens which covers the large LCD screen (see next stage).

Slide your plastic tool under the lens. It'll be stuck down lightly with double sided tape.

You should now have the lens removed. Now remove the six screws you have access to.

Close the flip and lift the front cover from left to right. It'll still be attached by a ribbon (circled) so be careful. To detach the ribbon, lift up the white latch (circled) and then pull the ribbon away from the phone and it'll slide out.

Your phone should now look like below. Another ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. This attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lever it up, away from the phone, to unplug it.

Next remove the two screws circled at the top of the picture. Now lever out the vibrating motor and speaker, circled at the bottom of the picture.

You can now lift the LCD away from the phone, as shown below. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola K1 KRZR disassembly

After removing your back cover and battery, remove the four screws you see. Three of the screws will be black and one will be silver. Make sure the silver screw goes back in the same place it is removed from.

With the four screws removed you can now lift the battery slot from the back of the phone. Where it joins at the bottom it will require some force

With the battery slot removed you have access to one of the ribbons (indicated below by the screwdriver) which connects the screen to the main body of the phone. Unclip this (it fits like a plug and socket).

Now remove the bezel at the top of the phone. It is held on with double sided tape. Run your fingernail along the edge and carefully peel if off

Your now have access to four more screws. Remove these and then in turn the plate which the screws were holding on

You now have access to the LCD. Unclip the two ribbons which are being held back in the picture below

Now unclip the ribbon at the other end, shown below

Now separate the two screens by running your fingernail along the edge where metal clips hold them together

Now unclip the front cover. It is held on by clips around the edge. Just run your fingernail around the edge to remove

Your screen should now be in two parts (the large inner screen and the small outer screen) like the picture below. You can now replace the screens

Motorola F3 disassembly

First remove the battery cover and battery. Remove the four screws you see.

Push the phone from the battery compartment to separate it into two parts.

Your phone will now look like below. Now remove the four Phillips screws you can see.

Your phone will now look like the picture below.

You can now remove what is effectively the front cover of the phone. It is held on with double sided tape which may need replacing. You'll now have access to the PCB (printed circuit board). Please note that the F3 has a paper screen and this cannot be replaced wihout great difficulty. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola E1000 disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the six screws you have access to.

The front cover will now be loose and can be removed.

The battery compartment will also be loose and the phone can be separated again, as shown below.

Release a clip on the right side of the plastic part shown below then lift to the left to reveal a ribbon connector (circled). This attaches like a plug and socket.
Simply lift each connector up, away from the circuit board, to unplug it.

Your phone should now look like below. Another ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. Again, this is a plug/socket type connection.

Turn the phone over and remove the two circled screws.

The metal frame which holds the LCD screen will now be loose and can be separated from the circuit board.

Slide your plastic tool underneath the LCD screen to release it from the frame.

You should now have the LCD screen removed, as shown below. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Motorola A1000 disassembly

Turn your phone over so the camera is facing you and remove the battery cover and battery. Then remove the 8 screws (circled below). You can now separate the back of the housing from the rest of the phone.

Once you have removed the back of the housing, you'll see 2 more screws. Remove these. You can now remove the front part of the housing from the main body of the phone.

Your phone should now look like the image below.

Carefully remove the keyboard interface from he main board of the phone.

Your phone should now look like the image below. Carefully unclip the connector (circled below) from the main board. You should now be able to lift the screen from the main board.

With the screen removed, the job is nearly finished. There are five clips around the screen which need to be removed (two of them are circled below)

You should now have the screen separated, as below

T-Mobile MDA Compact III disassembly

Tools required: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a credit card or guitar plectrum, small flat head screwdriver or nail scissors or something similar.

First remove the battery cover, battery, memory card and stylus. Remove the two circled screws (one will be covered with a white warranty sticker).

Next pull the camera cover up. Some force is required.

Your phone will now look like below. Now remove the two screws you can see. The battery compartment of the phone can now be removed.

Next you need to detach the circled ribbon connector. There is a black latch where the ribbon attaches. Flip this up (from right to left) and then simply pull the ribbon out. Pay attention to how the ribbon attaches.

Now lift the circuit board from right to left and detach the ribbon connector, circled below, in the same way you did the previous one.

Now push something like a watchmakers screwdriver with a flat head or one arm of a pail of nail scissors into the circled slots to lever away the clips that hold the front cover on.

The front cover has now been removed and you have access to the LCD screen.

The screen is held in place with double sided tape. Pry the screen away from the rest of the phone, as shown below.

You have now removed the LCD screen. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG Vu CU920 disassembly

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws need to be removed, circled below.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the camera surround to release it.

With the camera surround removed you phone should look like below.

Now pull the antenna out and remove the three screws, circled in red. Next, three ribbon connectors (circled left in blue) need to be disconnected. Each attaches like a plug and socket and can be levered up, away from the circuit board. A fourth connector (circled in blue, top centre) connects in a slightly different way to previous ribbons. Look at socket where the ribbons enters. One part is black and one part is white. The black part is a latch. Flick the black latch up and the ribbon will then be loose and can be pulled away from the socket. The other two connectors, circled in blue, can be levered off in a similar way to the first three.

With all the ribbons disconnected, your phone should look like below.

You can now lift the green circuit board away from the phone, as shown below.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the front cover in order to release it.

With the front cover removed your phone should look like below.

There is a small piece of double sided tape on the back of the screen so, using a little force, slide your credit card all the way under the screen in order to release it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG Shine U970 disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery and sim. Six screws need to be removed. The two at the bottom are covered by rubber stoppers which can be levered out with your screwdriver.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. The memory card door will also come away. Two wires (circled) need to be disconnected. They attach like a plug and socket. Just lever each one up to unplug. Also remove the two circled screws.

Pull the circuit board away from the phone and you'll see it's attached by a ribbon, which now needs detaching. It attaches like a plug and socket and to detach it simply lever it away from the circuit board.

With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below. Now remove the six screws, circled.

You can now remove another layer of the phone, as shown below. Six screws need to be removed. The two at the top are covered by stickers which can be lifted off with something thin and flat or just push them off with your screwdriver.

Run something like a credit card along the join of the front cover in order to release it.

With the front cover removed your phone should look like below. Now remove the three screws you can see and lift the roller ball part away.

With the roller ball removed your phone should look like below.

Lift the screen towards you and remove the piece of blue tape, circled below. You now have access to a ribbon connector. Just flick the black latch up and pull the screen away from the phone to release the ribbon.

You should now have the LCD removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG U880 disassembly

Turn your phone over so the back is facing you. Remove the battery. Now remove the 4 screws (circled below)

Remove the 2 screws (circled below). These screws may be covered by some plastic covers. These simply peel off.

Next remove the 2 rubber stoppers & screws above the main screen (circled below)

Now remove the two screws below the main screen (circled below)

Run a fingernail along the join of the housing to unclip it

The top of the phone should now be in two pieces, as below

Unclip the ribbon circled below. This attaches like a plug and socket

Now detach the top of the phone from the bottom. This involves a little force as it is a tight fit

Double back the ribbon on itself so it is away from the LCD screen

Use the screwdriver to lever the old screen out

Replace the old screen with new and reverse the whole procedure for reassembly

LG U8110, U8120, U8130 disassembly

Tools required: T5 screwdriver

Turn your phone over so the battery cover is facing you. Remove the battery cover and battery. Next remove the 2 rubber stoppers (circled below) and unscrew the aerial.

Remove the 6 screws (circled below)

Next remove the 2 rubber stoppers & screws above the main screen (circled below)

Prise the back part away from the rest of the phone by running your fingernail between where the two parts meet (as shown below)

Your phone should now look like the picture below. Unclip the ribbon (circled below)

After removing the ribbon cable (above), carefully lift the metal part indicated by the arrow above. Another ribbon will be attached which should be carefully removed. Take the circuit board & keypad out and you'll be left with what's below. Next remove the top part of the phone by pushing the housing in whilst pulling the hinge, which the top part is attached via, away from the phone. This is the hardest part and you'll need to bend and manipulate the housing the get the hinge out. Be firm but be careful so you don't snap the housing.

Your phone will now be in two parts. To open the top half of the phone and get to the screen, run your fingernail fingernail between where the two parts of the housing meet (as shown below)

Your phone should now be as pictured below. The circled areas indicate where you'll need to remove the speaker and ringer in order to solder them to the new screen. The screen can be lifted away from the phone easily at this point.

LG Viewty KU990 disassembly

Remove the battery cover and battery to allow access to six screws. Remove these screws.

You can now remove back part of the phone. It should come away from the phone with a little force.

You should now have the back part removed, like below. Remove the camera module. Wiggle it around and it'll release.

Now lift the circuit board away from right to left, as shown below. It's held in place quite tightly. The board will still be attached by a few ribbon on the left side.

Unclip the grey part from right to left, shown below, to reveal another ribbon (circled). This attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it

Your phone should now look like the picture below.

Now remove the lens which covers the screen. It is held on with double sided tape and will require some force to remove it.

Your phone should now look like the image below.

The LCD screen and frame are stuck into the front of the phone by double sided tape so carefully peel them away (you don't want to bend the frame as you'll need to put the new screen in this).

Now remove the LCD screen from the metal frame and replace with new. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG KS360 disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the six screws you can see.

Slide something like a credit card in-between the housing and battery compartment, as shown below. This will release the back part of the phone.

With the back of the housing removed, your phone should look like below.

Lift the circuit board up at the bottom, then flip it over from left to right.

The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone, as shown below. Remove the four screws you now have access to and you'll be able to lift another layer of the housing away.

Your phone should now look like below. Six screws need to be removed. Three of these screws will be covered with small blue stickers. Just lift them off with your screwdriver. They're not needed so don't worry about damaging them.

Now slide your plastic tool all the way around the join of the front cover to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. Two connectors need to be disconnected. Again, these attach like a plug and socket. Just lever each one up to unplug.

Flip the keypad membrane up and then slide your plastic tool under the LCD screen. It will be stuck down lightly.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Peel off the green sticker, indicated by the arrow. Another ribbon needs to be disconnected. Release this by flicking the brown latch back and then pull the screen away from the green circuit board.

You should now have the LCD screen removed completely. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG Cookie KP501 disassembly

Now lift the aerial away from the phone, as shown below.

Pull the circuit board away from the phone, as shown below. Another ribbon connector needs to be detached (circled). Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

You should now have the circuit board removed. Now remove the camera, circled below. It's stuck down lightly with double sided tape.

You should now have the camera removed. The ribbon circled in blue will pull through a gap in the housing when you remove the front cover in the next stage. Just make sure it isn't damaged as you take the front cover off.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the front cover in order to remove it.

Your phone should now look like below. Lever the screen out from the points circled below.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

You should now have the small LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG KP170 disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery and sim. Remove the four screws you can see.

Run something like a credit card all the way around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. A number of clips, such as those circled below, hold the circuit board and front cover together. Release these clips to remove the front cover.

Your phone should now look like below.

Turn the circuit board over. Release the clips that hold the grey part to the circuit board but make sure you don't break the two wires soldered to the circuit board. Circled is the ribbon from the LCD screen. To release this first remove the blue sticky tape then flick the black latch up.

Slide your plastic tool right under the LCD screen. A small piece of double sided tape holds the LCD screen in place and will release as you push the card under.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG Chocolate KG800 disassembly

1) Remove the battery and four black screws you can see

2) Next run a fingernail along the edge of the housing to separate the phone into two parts

3) Your phone will now be in two parts. Remove the four silver screws you see and keep these aside as they are shorter than the other screws you'll encounter and need to go back in the right place or the slide will not work

4) Unclip the two ribbon cables (they connect like a plug and socket) and remove the circuit board which they were attached to

5) Your phone will now look like below

6) The top part of the circuit board you see is attached to the main part of the phone by another two plug and socket type connectors on the opposite side. Unclip these and put the loose part to one side

7) You can now see two more silver screws. Remove these and keep them with the other four silver screws

8) They grey part will now be loose and can be removed, as pictured below. Remove the four silver screws you see. Keep these separate from the six smaller silver screws you removed earlier

9) The next two screws you need to remove are hidden under two small sticky plastic pads (indicated below). Lift these up and remove the two screws

10) Run your fingernail along the edge of the housing to separate this section of the phone into two parts

11) Twist part of the housing to the side slightly until another connector can be seen (indicated below). Unclip this connector

12) To remove the screen you first need to detach the ringer from the back of the screen. It is attached with double sided tape. Be very carefully when detaching the ringer from the screen as it is attached to the phone by two wires which can break very easily

13) The screen will be attached at the other end by a ribbon. Note how the ribbon attaches (so you can see how to attach the new screen) then firmly pull the screen away from the circuit board

LG KF750 Secret disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Now remove the six black screws you can see.

Open the slide and remove the two silver screws you can see, circled below.

Run a plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or the edge or a credit card around the join of the back part of the phone in order to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. Two wires need disconnecting (circled). Each attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector up away from the phone to unplug.

Lift the circuit board from right to left. Another connector (circled) may disconnect as you do this. If not, disconnect it. The circuit board will still be attached to the phone on the left by the volume button strip. This is lightly stuck down and will peel away from the phone.

Your phone should now look like below. Two stickers cover two more silver screws. Remove the stickers, circled, then remove the two screws.

You can now remove the metal plate you have just unscrewed. Move it around a little until it releases. Now slide the ribbon through the gap in the slide mechanism.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the yellow tape which covers the circled connector on the right. Flick the black hinge up to release the ribbon. The connector on the left attaches like a plug and socket, like the others.

Now carefully peel back the ribbon which is stuck to the back of the LCD screen. You can now lever the screen out (start near the bottom).

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

LG KF700 Virgo disassembly

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. At the top of the phone you'll see two little plastic plugs. Lift these out two reveal two screws. Remove these two screws plus the other four you can see.

Starting near the bottom of the phone, run your fingernail, or something like a guitar plectrum, all the way around the join of the battery compartment to unclip it.

Your phone should now look like below.

You now need to detach a ribbon connector, indicated by the screwdriver below. It attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it. There is also a small connector circled in pink. Be careful with this as the wire it's attached to is quite delicate. Lift the gold, metal part up to disconnect it.

Pull the printed circuit board back to reveal another ribbon. It attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the three screws you see and detach the connector, which is circled in pink.

Lift the printed circuit board from the bottom of the phone. It's still attached near to top by a silver metal sticker on each side. Carefully peel these stickers back.

Your phone should now look like below. You now have access to two more screws. Remove these.

Lift the part shown below away from the phone. You now have access to four more screws. Remove these.

Starting at the bottom (where the silver screws were), separate the two parts of the phone. A little force is required near the other end.

Your phone should look like below. Unplug the ribbon connector you can see (circled).

As you now try to lift the LCD away you'll notice the the ribbons behind it are glued down. Carefully peel them all away from the LCD.

You should now have the LCD removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Tools required: Phillips size 0 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the four screws you can see.

Slide something like a credit card in-between the join of the back of the phone to release it, as shown below.

With the back of the housing removed, your phone should look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the phone to unplug. The circled screw also needs to be removed.

The circuit board needs to be pulled away from the phone, starting near the black antenna. The antenna needs to be levered away from the rest of the phone at the point indicated by the arrow. It's important to get this right as the speaker behind it is stuck down with double sided tape and needs to be levered off along with the antenna as the two parts are connected by two wires which can snap if you're not careful.

Below, circled right of the picture, you can see the speaker and two wires mentioned in the previous stage. Two more ribbon connectors needs to be disconnected. Again, each one attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever them away from the circuit board to unplug.

Your phone should now look like below. Lift the orange keypad membrane away from the phone. Note that the button on each side will be stuck down lightly so carefully peel them away from the side of the phone.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the four circled screws. You can now lift away another layer of the phone.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the four circled screws. Also remove the two rubber/plastic stoppers at the top of the phone to reveal two more screws. Remove these then slide your plastic tool all the way around the join of the front cover to release it.

Peel back the green sticker, indicated by the arrow, then slide the flex ribbon through the gap.

Your phone should now look like below. The circled connector needs to be disconnected. Again, it attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away from the phone to unplug it. Peel back the flex ribbon. It's stuck down at the two points indicated by the arrows.

Now slide your plastic tool under the LCD screen to release it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
